David of Bronte Adventures

Hi, I’m David,

I run Bronte Adventures and lead moorland guided walks.

I’ve been living in Stanbury near Haworth, very close to the moor, for over 30 years and absolutely love it!

I started Bronte Adventures out of frustration that due to budget cuts, our local authority closed the Visitor Information Centre  in Haworth and that most websites promoting the village were either out of date or uninspiring

So I decided to build this website to welcome visitors and with a small team of volunteers, gather news and information as best we can to make your trip as enjoyable and as easy as possible.

I have been promoting Haworth for many years and used to Chair Destination Bradford, a business network of major attractions, hotels and conference venues.

In a distant life, I toured the UK with a play about the life and work of Emily Bronte and produced a CD of her poetry set to new orchestral music. The composer was

his was performed with a 20 piece orchestra to a full house at St Michael’s Church in Haworth as well as at The Square Chapel in Halifax.

I was also one of the original Bradford Live team that raised £25m for a new music venue opening in Bradford in 2022. Can’t wait!

Am a dad of 3 teenage boys, love running the moors and dancing Smooth Modern Jive (yeah, I get loads of grief about that!).

My mantra – “All things are ready, if our mind be so” – William Shakespeare, Henry V.

Please do get in touch if you’d like a confidential chat about a walk or working together.
